    Hi John

Nice to see you added support for 4 button controller!
Could you make the title bar of the widgets autohide? So that it only shows when changing between widget pages. Then we get more space for the widget itself. Especially for the map widget.

Also, any updates on OBD speed for the center widget?

Hello Joao Woulf it be possible to offer obd speed on main screen as big indicator ad a choice because when in tunnels gps is dead. And 2hen in use as main control its more usefull

This would be really nice! When you drive tens of kilometres of tunnels on a trip, the fuel calculation starts to get inaccurate. Where I live (Norway) we have about 90 tunnels that are between 3 and 25 kilometres and about 240 tunnels that are between 1 and 7 kilometres, so it quickly adds up.

A device with Play Store required you to buy the license from the Play Store… this is mandatory or Google will quickly ban us from Play Store. The standalone license (which you buy from the Thork Racing website) can really only be used with devices without Google Play Store. Sorry about that!

No problem, such is life. I will start with the Play Store version then. And then buy the standalone when I switch device. What about OBD Speed and the number of button presses to switch between widgets? Best regards Jesper

    Will fix that soon.

    Awesome! 😀

    Hi John

Are you sure it’s not a possible bug? Previously I could restart DMD2 and it suddenly stopped using as much power, this time it didn’t work to restart. The charger is not great, but it stil manages to charge the phone ok when using google maps, when using DMD2 the battery gets drained when on the charger. I willl clear all data for the app and see if that solves it.

    Hi

I used DMD2 quite a bit on a trip this weekend, and when using it, the power consumption was so high the charger couldn’t keep up. I didn’t use navigation, only the home screen with the map widget. For comparison, when using google maps, the battery was charged with no problem.

Would you consider putting up a “user voice” of some sort, where the users can vote on new features. And maybe you can share the backlog/planed features in a prioritized order?

Thanks for the great work you do!

    Hi John

I was wondering if you could add a sign on the map that shows the speed limit of the road you are driving on?

Also, is it possible to base the fuel range calculation on the OBD PID value for the odometer? The PID should be A6 in hex. This would be more acurate when you drive through tens of kilometers of tunnels or if you drive a distance without DMD2 on.

It is not, the whole Location service gets stopped when you turn off the screen (no GPS use). How did you measure the power consumptions?

Buttons are fully configurable in the Roadbook View settings (cog wheel in the roadbook view top right corner), you can literally set them to REPEAT or NOT, and even set the repeat speed!

    Hi John
Used the built in graph in Android settings. If I leave DMD2 on and lock the screen, it will drain the battery over night.

That’s great! Thanks! Found a bug in 2.99917. When you navigate to a POI and then drive elsewhere after you have reached the POI, and then want to navigate to same POI again, it just says you have reached your destination. BR Jesper

    Did you see this? 🙂

Also, I often have to restart the app to get the map to follow me, even though it has a good GPS fix and I tap the compass button to get it to the right mode. The fuel range continues to count down, so GPS is obviously working. I haven’t been able to test this in newer than 2.99921 yet.

Hi John After a recent upgrade the auto tilt and auto zoom works good, but I find that it zooms in too close (when on the home screen). I can see further on the road than I can see on the map. Some suggestions: – Show the zoom level in the bottom corner on the map widget, like on the map screen. – Have the auto zoom level a bit further out on the widget. – Make the arrow indicating position and direction smaller, remove the blue circle around it and instead have a border around the arrow, like the arrow in the status bar. The way it is now, the arrow covers very much of the map, and makes the position on zoom levels that are functional very hard to see (see attached screenshot). Maybe in the future also user selectable arrow styles? 🙂 – Less shading on the light theme, for increased visibility. Version 2.99917 I have manually zoomed out in this screenshot. Also, a gold accent colour option would be very nice. Thanks for the great work you do! Best regards Jesper

When in auto zoom mode you can use the zoom buttons and adjust the auto zoom. Basically when you are in auto zoom mode and you use zoom controls it is adding a multiplier factor to the auto zoom levels, that value is saved and reused. Some really nice suggestions in your post, will add to the list! Beta 2.99919: – GPX Manager – Waypoints is now complete – DMD-T devices now have function on the hardware shortcut buttons (later will be configurable), current shortcuts: Reset Trip / Light and Dark Theme toggle / Launch Google maps – Apps view will now correctly update after you install & uninstall an app – Fixed a case of the notifications filter not applying changes immediately – Removed GPS precision conditions that were specific for the CARPE Tab – Some more Topo Map Style changes

    That’s great! Thanks!

….also for the future, some logic that remembers the last status of the fuel lamp from OBD, and asks you if you want to reset the fuel level calculation when the low fuel lamp goes from on to off.
