DMD2 is an Android app that can be used with any Android device with a minimal Android version of 6.1 (although the recommended minimum version is 7.1).
You can install DMD2 from Google Play Store or if your device does not have Google Play Store you can manually install it using the APK.
To get the latest APK for devices without Google Play Store click here (Latest beta version for non Play Store license purchase).
The only hardware requirements for DMD2 is that your devices has a touchscreen, internet connection to download content like map files (app can be used offline), bluetooth and GPS chip.
Please notice some devices (specially tablets) do not have an actual hardware GPS chip, instead they use wifi/bluetooth/carrier to get an approximate location. DMD2 will only work with devices with real actual GPS chip (which are most of the devices in the market).
Default launcher or not…
DMD2 can be used as your Android device default launcher (aka HOME) or it can be used as a regular app.
Please Note: When you first install DMD2, the first time you hit your device Home Key you will see a dialog asking you to choose your default Launcher (this is the default behaviour for Android whenever you install a new Launcher capable app).
Select your device default launcher (and not DMD2) if you want to use DMD2 as a normal app:
Select DMD2 if you want to use DMD2 as your home launcher:
Please notice that you can change the default home launcher at any time in the Android Settings, the procedure can be a bit different from device to device:
The only detail that changes is that if it is your default home launcher the “EXIT” button will not show in your bottom menu since there is nowhere to exit when it’s the home.
