ParticipantI purchased a T-865 tablet back in April 2024 and am still getting familiar with the DMD2 app. I have noticed that when following a GPX track the arrow that indicates your location moves. When I am not moving the arrow is on top of the track (which makes sense) but when I start moving it shifts so that it is off to the side of the track. When I stop it moves back on top of the track. This is very annoying since it makes it appear like you are not on the correct road. Is there a setting to prevent this from happening? If there are lots of roads around it’s difficult to tell if I am still following the track or if I took a wrong turn.

KeymasterThe track is of no consequence to the location icon.
When you are riding your location icon shows your position on the map regardless of whatever tracks are bellow it.
So the question is, is your position, while riding, matching the map roads bellow it?Some apps do “road snapping” or “track snapping” but that sucks and its not something you want when doing offroad or adventure riding.

ParticipantI understand that this is useful for off-road adventures, but for road rides, it sucks. Many times, the icon appears outside the road or even inside buildings. As Patrick mentioned, when there’s a parallel road, it can be confusing. Could you add an option for ‘road snapping,’ whether it’s for GPX files or navigating from point A to B?
Another thing I noticed is that when 3D buildings are enabled, especially with shadows, some buildings appear to be ‘dropped’ onto the road. Could you add a ‘cut’ or something in the shadows when a building is near the road?
One more request that might be easy to implement: could you use a different color for boulevard/avenue roads?

Absolutely not. It’s out there in the middle of nowhere, doing its own thing and proving to be completely useless—so much so that it frustrates me during my rides. It’s really that bad. I initially thought the issue was with the Tripltek 9, but since it works fine with OSMAND, it seems to be a problem on the DMD side. I’m somewhat relieved to realize that I don’t need to invest in new hardware to fix this.
Please consider adding some kind of snapping option or whatever fix to make this frustration go away.

ParticipantIn the DMD Setting app, under GPS settings, do you have “Filter GPS Accuracy” enabled? Wonder if that would help.
Also, at a point when you’re having the Arrow so far off from the track you know you’re on, I’d be interested to hear what you’re getting from running the Satellite test app at that point in time. See if you’re getting a 3D fix of GNSS Status (Upper left hand corner in the app). And what average signal strength is.
