Hi, old DMD2 user I wanted to try the new version. Unfortunately I don’t have any navigation icon (Just OBD, apps, settings, exit and roadbook). I installed this version on a Galaxy Tab3 with landscape format. Did I miss something?
You mean there is no Map icon in the bottom menu? Just go to settings and click in “Edit Bottom Menu”, there you can sort and show/hide any bottom menu entry.
I have an AJP PR7 with the OEM Samsung tablet that comes with a fully licensed version of DMD2. After I installed the Beta, I lost the license. I’m not sure what mechanism was used on the OEM AJP tablet to recognize the license (I was always able to update the app directly from the app-store). Is there a way for me to reactivate that and gain full functionality to the beta? At this point, I’m also not confident simply reinstall the non-beta version would get my license back. Thanks
Same thing for me, I reinstalled non beta and that worked but then returned to beta again and the same thing… annoying have tried several times and had to download maps each time, I’m sure a fix is on the way. Dan
We were holding back DMD2 until we were sure it was stable for manufacturer versions. I will try to add AJP support this week.

– Fixed some crash cases based on play store crash reports
– Improved Route Calculation – Short Profile logic
– Route Calculation new profile “Mixed” initial release – Allows to route to any offroad type location – more options later
– Improved default track line width for phones
– Fixed a case where a hidden GPX file would still trigger the track tap dialogThis update will be delayed for non play store devices like the Garmin Tread, will release tomorrow as I need to test the update process first.

11 April 2023 at 11:50 pm #1525MurphyauParticipantIf I select Navigation Mode, I am asked if I want to use DMD2 or an External App, and if I select External App, Google Maps is automatically loaded. Is there a menu item or process where I can set which External App I want to use (instead of Google Maps) ?? For the record, I have DMD2 2.995 on a Galaxy Tab A SM-T510 running Andriod 11.
Thats actually not related to DMD2, thats just how Android works, a dialog will show if you have multiple navigation apps installed AND you dont have one set by default, if you indeed have multiple apps and you want the dialog to show again just clear the app defaults in the Android settings > Applications.
I am not sure if it is a Google thing or a Samsung thing, but on my Samsung J16 phone (Android 5.1.1) there is an option for setting the default app for Navigation, but on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 510 (Android 11) and my Samsung A30 phone (Android 12) there is no longer any menu option to set the default navigation app.
I have 3 navigation apps installed ( G/Maps, G/Waze and iGo ). All 3 have permission to access “Location” and all 3 are not set as a “default app”, yet DMD2 sees Maps & Waze (both Google apps), but does not see iGo.
This is not a “show stopper” for me as the current DMD2 “in-built” navigation is adequate to get me from Town A to Town B, 150 kms down the highway, and I can switch to a more dedicated navigation app for in-city travel, if needs be.

First of all great Job with dmd2 really loving the new features.
Last night i updated the beta to the latest release, after that when i try to navigate using dmd2 it keeps recalculating route and wont find a gps signal. However if i open up Google Maps i have a fine gps signal. Also the widget on the side when navigating is missing but I’m not sure if that’s due to the lack of gps signal.Im on a Samsung Galaxy active tab 2Turns out it moved the app from SD to internal storage when updating. All issues was gone once i moved it back to SD. Everything works fine now.
Best regards
Rasmus

12 April 2023 at 8:42 am #1530harupipapaParticipantHello I want you to be able to adjust the total distance and partial distance with the + and – buttons in Roadbook mode. it’s on the screen. It is best to select total or partial in the setting and set display / non-display. It can be used when the remote control fails. Entering numbers is impractical during a real rally.
You want me to add a plus and minus buttons in the dialog or in the actually Roadbook layout?
yes
Increase/decrease button of trip
Add it to your roadbook screen.
(to hide in settings)
i request you- This reply was modified 1 year, 5 months ago by harupipapa.

The advanced button is disabled at the moment because it is under development.
Nice suggestion for the recalculation, I will try to make that an option!I am not sure if it is a Google thing or a Samsung thing, but on my Samsung J16 phone (Android 5.1.1) there is an option for setting the default app for Navigation, but on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 510 (Android 11) and my Samsung A30 phone (Android 12) there is no longer any menu option to set the default navigation app. I have 3 navigation apps installed ( G/Maps, G/Waze and iGo ). If iGO does not show up is because the developers forgot to declare in the app manifest that the app can handle a location intent, nothing we can do about that.
As for changing the default map app you can do this in another way, check this: https://www.samsung.com/my/support/mobile-devices/how-to-change-default-navigation-app/
Basically go to Android Settings > Application > Search for Google Maps and click on it > Click where it says “Set As Default” and then “Clear Defaults”DMD2 Project Manager & Lead Developer

In the map view, when you are riding a planned route you have a box in the left of your screen with the real-time progress info and instructions… in the bottom there is a button with the text “Options”, click on it 🙂

I know that there is a possibility when I ride. But sometimes you change your mind while you are planning . So it would make sens to have this option in the Menue
