First I must say that I think

my carpe iter tablet is great a perfect multi purpose motorbike tablet

 

is it possible to make the start up screen a dark color? when its dark(evening)?

I use my carpe iter tab everyday and when its dark morning and evening in the winter the white start up screen is totally blinding

But DMD2 is only available in dark at the moment.
Not sure I understand your question. Or are you referring to the actual tablet boot logo (in your case the CARPE logo)?
Because if you are then no we cannot change that without a ROM flash and it is not related in any way to DMD2.
