It’s actually not DMD2 that manages purchases, it is Google Play Store. If it is asking for payment again chances are the previous purchase was refunded, you can check in your Google Play Store account for purchases list.
When refunds happens its usually automatic refunds done by credit card issuers who have hard-limits for the Play Store purchases, on many credit cards something like the map life-time purchase is over that limit. In those cases I would usually recommend using Pay Pal in your Google Play Store account, PayPal does not have those limits.
