Improved Home Layout Flexibility

Dear DMD2 Team,

First of all, thank you for developing such a useful app for motorcycle navigation and data display.

I use DMD2 extensively on my KTM 690 Enduro with a Bluetooth dongle and an Outikel 8-inch tablet. While the app provides many great features, I have encountered some limitations that impact usability, especially since I do not use a controller to switch between screens. Having a single, highly customizable screen that meets all my needs would greatly enhance my experience.

 

Current Issues with screens:

1. Home screen:

• Limited customization options for layout.
• Map is too small.
• No gear indicator.
• Inefficient use of screen space

2. Map screen:

• Lacks RPM display.
• No gear indicator.

3. OBD data screen:

• No integrated map.
• No gear indicator.

 

Suggested Improvement:

I would love to see a more flexible and modular layout system on the home screen, where users can customize their screen with different layout options. This would allow me to create a single view that integrates essential elements such as:

• Map view + routing information panel
• RPM and gear indicator
• Speed GPS highlighted
• 2-3 OBD data fields (e.g. coolant temp)
• Customizable layout to tweak the sizes of the frames to my preference.

Such a system would greatly improve usability, especially for riders like me who rely on touch controls rather than a hardware controller.
