Hello,
very very newbie here so please excuse the dumb questions. I am thinking about buying the tablet but being based in Senegal for the near future, I’d like to make sure that the system comes with integrated GPS. Is that how it works or do I need to download the maps myself? Please speak to me like I’m a 5 year old, I know nothing! 🙂
Good day Manuel. If you have an Android phone, try installing the DMD2 app on it to play around with it and get familiar with the app and its maps. This will help answer lots of your questions. The maps are OpenSource and you subscribe to them on a semi or annual basis to use on the tablet or Android phone. By trying the maps on an Android phone, you can see how accurate are the maps before investing in a tablet.
Best of luck,
Mike (Canadian in Ecuador)
Thanks a lot Mike,
I’ll do that right now.
Best,
M.

Hello, yes our devices have integrated GPS chip and Antenna, you do not need internet or carrier for it to work.
You should download the maps in the app to use them offline (you can download any map since we have full world coverage). The downloads should be done at home with a decent internet connection (you can use Wifi connection for this).
And yes, you can try the app in your Android device (phone or tablet), our system are full Android systems just like a phone or tablet.
