A new firmware for that controller was released by SilverFox you should update and try again.
Also when using wired connection make sure in the buttons app you enable “Use Cable Connection” and make sure the remote is not paired with the device (no BT connection).
For me the ideal setup with that remote is basically the same as Remote 1/2:
In DMD2 go to Global Settings > Tap Setup Remote Controller > Press Reset and choose Remote 1/ 2
The only change you probably want to do is in “Advanced” tab where you probably want to disable “Panning Target Mode”
