Currently, I think if I needed to modify a GPX route, I’d open something like the Gaia app on my phone and layout a modified route with waypoints that snap a line to each other, as I long press the screen where I want the next point.

That scenario happened to me a few years ago. Was navigating a GPX route I’d made at home and uploaded to my Gaia app. We didn’t get 10 miles into the ride before we ran into the rest of the route being closed due to snow. Rather than backtrack, the Gaia app let me long press points where we’d need to make turns and then snap a route line as I laid out an escape route. Took a few minutes on the side of the road to research the map and lay out the route. But then all I had to do was navigate it and not have to try to remember where each turn was supposed to be or stop at each point and figure out the next before continuing.

I agree that would be a great feature of DMD.
