So I installed the NotifMate first on both the phone and the T665, got them talking correctly and then installed on my samsung phone CallApp, then turned everything off in NotifMate in its list of apps to send notifications from. I then turned just the CallApp in that list on to make sure it was able to receive the caller id, and it did!

I then disabled NotifMate and did the exact same thing with the DMD Hub app, same process, turn all off, try just having the CallApp in the list, and tried it, it also worked correctly! I then turned on the txt app, MyQ (garage door) app, AquaMail (email) app and checked each one of them, they all worked correctly too. So, the issue is not with the DMD Hub or NotifMate app, its with the oem “phone” app not allowing any messages to be pushed through to those apps. I’m sure there’s a way to do this, as my cheapo Chinesium Amazfit watch receives phone calls perfectly, and that too is through a bluetooth connection with its app on my samsung phone.

So, a couple of caveats here, guess I should mention it just as an FYI for others. The DMD Hub app requires Google Play Store to be active on the sending phone, it will crash if it is not. I had to re-enable all of that nonsense to get the DMD Hub app to work. I get it, Thork needs to use the play store to host the app properly, and I’m sure there’s some sort of silly requirement of Google to have the app check for Play store if they want their app to be hosted there. Fortunately, the NotifMate doesn’t require it, so I’ve switched back to that for now. So if you’re using a phone without play store enabled, you won’t be able to run the DMD Hub app.

I love my DMD T665 and the app is phenomenal, I will most likely upgrade to the tablet some day soon too, but the Hub app still needs a bit of serious work to be ready for prime-time. And I was actually surprised at how much text I got when a txt came through on my ride this past weekend! It was definitely enough for me to determine whether I needed to pull over or wait till my next stop to reply. I can also say, with the small T665, its best that I don’t have any more text on the screen while I’m riding to read! I am sure I took my eyes completely off the road for at least 4 or 5 seconds, and if it were any longer of a txt, I could see myself missing another few seconds of looking where I’m goin’!!! Probably not a huge issue if you’re puttin’ around on a trail at 5-10mph, but at 55 on a busy highway, probably not a good idea. And no, I wasn’t on one when I got a txt, I was on a paved, straight country road.

Hope one of the apps works out for ya! Reply here if you run into issues, I can try to help you out if you need it. Couple of pics in case you didn’t see them over on the Discord server, first pic is from DMD Hub, 2nd pic is NotifMate:
